I bought a new toy for her 2 weekends ago. She LOVED it! As soon as she saw this she said "Haaaah!". When she rolls the ball in it, she says "weeeee"
Here she is playing with it.

Cheese Omelet

Megha, for the first time ever today, had a shredded cheese omelet! She liked it a lot and didn't fuss at all! I am sure gonna make more breakfast items with egg :)

Ingredients:
Egg: 1
Butter: 1/2 tsp
Milk: 2 tbsp
salt and pepper to taste
Shredded cheese of any kind: 2 tbsp

Method: Beat everything together except butter and cheese. Heat a pan and add some butter. Pour in the egg mixture and let it stand until egg is almost cooked. Sprinkle the cheese, cover and let it stand for additional 10 seconds or until egg is completely cooked. Cool it, make it into bite size pieces and serve.

Here is what was remaining at last (which I ate)...so proud of you baby!

Some clicks from daycare

I am so happy to have found the current day care. Megha loves Sherry, her daughters and the other little one Amilia there. Mondays are a little hard on me (yes, even now) as I spend the weekend with Megha and leaving her on Monday always makes me feel sad and I cannot wait for the days to end and to meet Megha at the end of every evening. But Sherry is so sweet, she sends me lots of pictures of Megha when she is at daycare :)

At the daycare, on their deck, playing in the small pool.
Awwwww :) How she loves water :)
After her evening snack is the park time!
When we are too tired, we love to sleep midst the toys in the bin :)
And we love sprinklers and we can spend hours with them :)
30 years and a baby later, not bad eh?

Twinkle Twinkle...?

Like I mentioned before Megha loves this rhyme. Over the weekend, I have sung (is there a word called 'sung'?) the rhyme to her over and over again so that she remembers the words.

Guess what, she does!!!

Me: Twinkle twinkle little...
Meg: Sta !!!!
Me: Yaaaay Megha! Hi-fi!!

Me: How I wonder what you...
Meg: Sta !!!!
Me: Ha ha ha ha...no. It is Arrre
Me: How I wonder what you...
Meg: Sta !!!

Well, at least she got the first part right and I am happy. We will get through the next line soon enough :)
I remember, my second nephew S also used to say this rhyme.

I have also been trying to teach her parts of the body. Today she identified correctly, forehead and eyes :)

So proud of you baby.

What a Fantastic Fun-Day!

We had a great day today, Megha and I. Anand is away and i can see Megha is getting a little lonely without him. This morning I took her to her very first swimming lesson! We registered for this a while ago and am I glad we did. Saying that Megha LOVED this pool time (30 mins) would be an understatement. She was kicking her feet and hands and was so delighted that everyone around had nothing but appreciative nods for her :)

There was time for rhymes too. If you are Happy and you Know splash your hands...splash splash; and megha did splash :)
There was 10 minutes of warm water Jacuzzi time too where Megha loved playing with the water bubbles. She couldnt wait to get to the water slide :)
I wish I had a chance to get a picture but since I got in the pool along with Megha (there were 9 other children along with Megha in the pool) I couldnt get the picture.

After we came home, I gave Megha another bath, fed her lunch and she napped happily for an hour. In the evening we went to the park. the weather was cool this evening, cloudy but no rain (just started now). She played happily for an hour in the park.
After the park, we also went on a short ride in her tricycle. Megha loved it. Over all we had a great day! We miss you Anand!
Back to work tomorrow :(
P.S: Getting her out of the swimming pool after 30 minutes was such a nightmare though. She loved it so much that she started throwing a fit when I removed her from the pool. She completely sat down and started wailing; her very first fit outdoors. I tried several times to calmly calm her down to no avail. Since she is almost half my height now, it got so hard to calm her down and pick her up. Giving her an after-bath and changing her was another nightmare. Actually I was missing Anand so much. Everyone came in as families and I was one of the very few parents who came alone. I was trying to open the locker in the family changing room and I couldnt do it with one hand (megha was in another). If I put her down for a second, I know for a fact she would run towards the pool again. Perhaps next time would be easier to tell her to calm down?
...Just like in the library these days where she no longer makes too much noise?

The Tooth Fairy

As I have mentioned several times before, Megha was born with teeth. Here is my first post about it.
6 weeks after birth, we had to get her dentist extract her teeth because they were loose. Here:

Last week (June 16th to be specific) when we took her back to the dentist again for her 18 month check up, he confirmed that Megha will not  be getting her bottom two teeth which we had to extract after :(; She will be getting the permanent teeth later.
awwwwww :( doesnt matter I guess, she still looks super cute :)

Boooo!!

Like I mentioned before, I had been teaching names of the animals with the help of her soft toys. Latest to the collection is a soft toy of mouse. Repeatedly telling her that its mouse by showing the toy worked wonders. She can now identify mouse along with the other animals mentioned Here.

When Anand came home from a trip, I proudly asked Megha to bring the mouse from her bin...and she did. Look at the below picture:

And Anand caught it right away! Its not a mouse, its a squirrel! DOH! a big one at that! How could I not know the difference between a squirrel and a mouse?! So embarrassing. I have been trying to undo this with Megha all evening. I told her, "Megu, this is a squirrel" but she is shaking her head :( ; as if to say that its mouse :(
The tail should have given it away :(
